2902 AND 2905 N. CAPITOL AVE.
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful partnered with Boise Aspen Recycled Paper’s Project Up Campaign, the Alliance for Community Trees, People for Urban Progress, Synthesis Incorporated and Near North CDC to transform a long neglected, former brownfield site at 29th and Capital Avenue into a community asset. We contracted with Smock Fansler to do a lot of the site work and to install a concrete sidewalk.

IMPORTANCE OF THIS PROJECT
This project will accomplish:
- A new beautiful sustainable greenspace with native species
- A new concrete sidewalk
- Providing shade to the community, made out of recycled materials
DESIGN PROCESS
We worked with a group of over 70 volunteers in September to plant a mostly native landscape of trees, shrubs and grasses. In total, we planted over 24 trees on this site including honey locust, red maple, cedar and serviceberry. This project will eventually include a shade structure made of recycled RCA Dome fabric and benches containing recycled paper.
WORK STATUS
This work is complete. Stop by and check out the greenspace!
