Keeping Midtown Clean: Lilly Endowment Grant Funds Workforce Development

Thanks to a $3.78 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) is working with partners to clean up litter along several busy streets and waterways in Indianapolis through 2025.
Local partners include the City, Keys2Work, the White River Alliance, and Friends of the White River. Keys2Work is a nonprofit that works with homeless and justice-involved citizens to give them access to training, services, and support.
Areas of focus include the top 20 thoroughfares identified as having the most litter and illegal dumping determined by the number of complaints to the Mayor’s Action Center.
Midtown locations include:
- 38th St. between White River and Fall Creek
- Keystone Ave. from 62nd St. to 24th St.
- Fall Creek Pkwy. from Senate Blvd./Highland Place to Keystone Ave.
- Central Ave. from Westfield Blvd. to E 10th St.
- Capitol Ave. from Westfield Blvd. to North St.
- 25th St., from Meridian St. to N. Sherman Dr.
