Devington Bus Shelter and Greenspace
By: Emily Wood
ARLINGTON AVENUE AND STAUGHTON DRIVE

IMPORTANCE OF THIS PROJECT
This project will accomplish:
- A new beautiful bus stop that is inviting to all and incorporates the greenspace around it.
- Strong connections to the senior housing development being constructed on Staughton Drive just west of the bus stop.
- Playing off of the mid-century motifs, this space reflects the local community by using art and nature to promote the experience of public transportation.
DESIGN PROCESS
Reclaimed 1950s pavers, PUP Bush Stadium seating, functional artistic elements and native plants and trees are all incorporated into this design to promote the reuse of materials. Partnerships with w/Purpose, IndyGo, the Department of Public Works, BWI Development, People for Urban Progress (PUP), Arlington High School, and our project partner Devington Communities Association were established to complete this project.
