Special Delivery: TREES

Meet up at KIB to help the KIB Community Forestry team deliver dozens of trees for plantings on the Near East Side-transportation provided. The trees will create significant refuge for native wildlife, and help mitigate stormwater runoff. You can brush up on your tree species identification and get a decent workout in, too. While we will be working in teams, this project can be more physical in nature than typical KIB projects and the terrain may be inclined in some places. Ugly Sweater Tree Planting

Want to get in the Holiday Spirit? Wear your ugliest sweater, warm yourself by our campfire, and help the Near East Side Community transform a sparse tree canopy into a flourishing one-by planting 88 large-growing, 1” caliper shade trees in the tree lawns along Drexel and Bosart Avenue. City trees help reduce the effects of urban heat island and storm water runoff, while providing us protection from harmful U/V rays. We hope you will be a part of this high-impact project and…
