KIB isn't a one-and-done kind of organization. The first year of our GreenSpace partnerships is spent working with neighbors to design, build, and plant their AES Indiana Project GreenSpaces. What happens next? We are committed to long-term maintenance with our community partners. We care about you, the people we work with, and want to see your community spaces survive and thrive.
Our GreenSpace Sustainability Program was created to provide financial, technical, and material support to past project partners who are invested in sustaining our AES Indiana Project GreenSpaces.
All past project partners are automatically a part of the GreenKeeper’s Club. This club meets every other month and allows community members the opportunity to network, share resources, organize volunteer days, and stay in touch with KIB. Find more info on the GreenKeepers Facebook page.

Here's what we look for in a partners requesting sustainability support:
- Volunteers: All of the volunteers on any given project day must come from the neighborhood. (Exceptions can be made for larger projects.) A volunteer sign-up sheet can be downloaded here.
- Maintenance Commitment: Individuals on your team will take on specific maintenance roles and coordinate volunteers to weed, water, and care for the site outside of KIB-led work days.
To ensure project success and sustainability, KIB makes a multi-year commitment to its project partners. What does that mean?
- Advocacy, education, and support: We will work with you, our project partner, to identify specific maintenance needs and provide support for workday implementations.
- Equipment: KIB can also provide tool loans or a tool trailer at KIB-led work days.
