INDIANAPOLIS – (May 18, 2019) Join the Marion County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) for the first Weed Wrangle® Indiana event in Indianapolis. Participate in habitat restoration efforts along the city’s waterways and learn about several prominent local invasive plants from field experts. The 1st Indy Weed Wrangle® will be held at two locations in Indianapolis on Saturday, May 18 from 9:00 AM to 12 PM.

About the Marion County CISMA
A CISMA or Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area is a partnership between local and state governments, non-profits, citizen groups and other organizations with the goal of managing invasive plant species. The Marion County CISMA’s mission is to combat invasive species to nurture native habitats throughout Indianapolis and includes the following partners to date:

About Weed Wrangle®
Weed Wrangle® is a volunteer effort, led by professionals who work with invasive species to help manage and provide education in public places and green spaces. Weed Wrangle® was started in Tennessee by The Garden Club of Nashville in 2015. It has expanded across Tennessee and into several states. It is now a national event to garner support for invasive species education and management across the nation.
