Roche Employees Will Take Part in Eighth Annual Day of Service Tomorrow by Planting 200 Trees in Washington Park
INDIANAPOLIS – (May 3, 2018) Washington Park will receive new trees and beautification on Friday, May 4, with the help of 200 Roche Diagnostics (Roche) employees during the company’s annual Day of Service event with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB).
This year volunteers will be working in Washington Park to plant 200 new trees, mulch playgrounds, cleanup the IMPD mountain bike trail, and treat invasive plants. Trees will add shade to the park’s canopy and help mitigate storm water runoff as they mature. Beautification and cleanup work will take place in the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department mountain bicycle skills park in partnership with the IMPD. The trail is used to promote cycling and a healthy lifestyle for Indy youth. This work would not be possible without our great working relationship with Indy Parks and Department of Public Works within the City of Indianapolis.
Roche was named a 2018 Best Workplaces for Giving Back for the company’s efforts go above and beyond in their mission to give back to the Indianapolis community. KIB is proud to work with Roche volunteers every year to create a cleaner, greener, more beautiful city.
