INDIANAPOLIS,IN (July 31, 2019) - Lime— the leading U.S. smart mobility company— today announced a partnership with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) to support the organization's efforts to create cleaner, greener, more beautiful public spaces through its Lime Hero program. Lime and KIB celebrated the new partnership with a scooter ride through Indianapolis to visit the various sites that KIB has already transformed into vibrant community greenspaces. Lime Hero provides Lime scooter riders the option to round up the cost of their ride to be donated to a local nonprofit. In Indianapolis, donations will be made to Keep Indianapolis Beautiful.

“We're thrilled to partner with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and support its community-driven approach to revitalization,” said Alex Freeman, Indiana General Manager at Lime. “Lime strives to build lasting partnerships in the many communities we serve around the globe, expanding our reach beyond providing accessible transportation options to support holistic community development. Our partnership with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful embodies this approach and we will continue to find new and innovative ways to support the Indianapolis community.”

“When you round up your ride, you’re putting tools into the hands of thousands of KIB volunteers who help us fulfill our mission,” said Erica Coulter, Personal Philanthropy Manager at KIB. “Whether it’s trash bags to help keep our streets clean or shovels to plant trees for a greener, cooler city, we rely on support from people like you to keep Indianapolis beautiful. It’s so exciting to think that now when you ride with Lime, KIB can put your dollars to work to make sure that your scooter ride is beautiful, too.”

Lime provided scooters to KIB for its first ever electric scooter IPL Project GreenSpace tour, which included a trip around the city to various locations where KIB has transformed vacant lots into beautiful public spaces. These sites include Fletcher Park, Springdale GreenSpace, Paramount School, Urban Temple, and the Cottage Home GreenSpace. KIB volunteers and staff brought the vision of the surrounding communities to life through public art, native plantings, and preservation of neighborhood history.
Lime is also committed to providing better access to low-income users. As part of Lime’s efforts to serve the entire community, Lime Access allows any user who is enrolled in a city, state or federal low-income program to receive at least half off the cost of every bike and scooter ride.
