Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Arbor Day Foundation Team Up with FedEx to Plant 31 Trees in Indianapolis

WHAT: Nearly 40 FedEx team members will join the Arbor Day Foundation and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) to plant 31 trees at Sanders School in the Mars Hill neighborhood.

Volunteers will plant shade and fruit trees—including apple, pawpaw, sweet cherry and pear—making the school grounds more inviting and giving students access to fresh fruit. In a neighborhood with limited tree coverage and few grocery stores, this planting will help students learn firsthand about tree care, nutrition and the benefits of trees.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 17 from 12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.
WHERE: Sanders Elementary School, 4730 Gadsden St, Indianapolis, IN 46241
WHO: FedEx team member volunteers, and KIB representatives
VISUALS: FedEx volunteers and KIB staff planting shade and fruit trees at the Mars Hills neighborhood school; students and teachers from Sanders Elementary School may attend.

FedEx has supported KIB tree plantings, removal of invasive species, and cleanups along various waterways since 2008. Their commitment over the past twelve years has made Indianapolis communities cleaner and healthier places to live.
