Ethan Olson is KIB’s Director of Native Landscapes and has been working for the organization for over 6 years. He leads his team in the planting of over 3,000 trees across the city, restoring and managing riparian habitats along our waterways, and creating beautiful and accessible public places for Indianapolis residents to enjoy nature. His department contains the AES Indiana Project GreenSpace, Urban Naturalists, and GreenSpace Stewardship, Community Forestry, and Youth Tree Team programs; all of which are focused on the creation and maintenance of beautiful places for both people and wildlife to enjoy.

In 2020, Ethan started the KIB Native Plant Nursery to increase public access to native plant material for residential landscaping in the city.

Prior to his work at KIB, Ethan was a professional tree climber and plant care technician. He is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a B.S. in Environmental Management. He loves the outdoors, working in nature, and growing beautiful plants.
