Adopt-A-Block Scoring

Adopt-A-Block is a program of Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB)< in which Indianapolis residents, businesses, schools, and other groups volunteer to pick up litter on their block all year round. Adopt-A-Block Captains commit to caring for one or more blocks of their neighborhood, with supplies provided by Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. As a part of this program, adopted blocks are periodically scored on a scale of 1-4 based on the amount of litter present.

KIB is seeking an independent contractor to fulfill the functions of an Adopt-A-Block (AAB) Scorer. This person will, on a monthly basis, evaluate the presence of litter on adopted blocks and assign a score of 1, 2, 3, or 4. They will also assist in evaluating trash receptacles located at KIB GreenSpaces to determine if these receptacles are being emptied on a regular basis. As new GreenSpace trash receptacles are installed, they will then be evaluated once per month.

These evaluations and associated observations, will assist KIB in evaluating our progress toward reducing the presence of litter throughout Indianapolis, and will identify areas where the Adopt-A-Block and GreenSpace litter reduction programs are successful and where we may need to provide additional assistance.
