If you have NEVER volunteered with us before, please fill out our Volunteer Sign-up Form so we have all of your contact information. Otherwise, please sign up to volunteer for one of the KIB projects below!
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. partners with all neighborhoods, all income levels, to green up the city and increase the canopy cover of Indianapolis. If you prefer to volunteer in an area that faces stronger environmental or economic challenges, please let us know and we will try to match you with a project where your impact can be made.

KIB Fall Volunteer Projects

Join us as we beautify a large esplanade on South Alabama Street. Project tasks will include the installation of rain gardens, native trees and shrubs as well as planters and a pervious patio.

Volunteers will create KIB bracklets from reclaimed Hoosier dome material for the Oranje event. Work will be done here at KIB's offices in Fountain Square.

We will continue working to green up this neighborhood on the southwest side of Indianapolis by planting 20 native trees around the ponds in their community.

Volunteers needed to help Keep Indianapolis Beautiful maintain our LEED Gold Certified headquarters. Work will include removing weeds, adding mulch, picking up trash and occasionally painting over graffiti. After the work is done, volunteers will be rewarded with a beer from Sun King Brewery!

Residents of this historic neighborhood are renovating and improving neighborhood vacant lots in the center of the Cottage Home neighborhood. Volunteers will help build a new park shelter of re-used and recycled materials (including using a section of the RCA dome roof for the shelter roof), create a gathering and performance space, a rain garden, a wildflower garden to support a bee hive and much more!

This planting takes place in the southeastern reaches of Marion County. We will be planting 20 trees around a parochial school playground.

This community is working to plant trees in their community as a way to reforest their neighborhood and for neighbors to get to know each other. Trees will be planted in common areas and along the streets.

Glenn Ridge is a housing development on the southeast side of the county; they are in need of trees as the woods that was once prolific throughout this area was converted to cornfields and now are being converted to housing…without trees! Everyone needs trees, so we’re helping out by planting trees along their entryway and around their detention pond.

This community has an active group of neighbors committed to their town and its healthy development. They understand that trees are valuable assets in their community and are working toward their master plan to create a walkable community in Clermont. Volunteers are invited to help them plant 35 new trees.

The KIB grounds looks great right now, but there is always room for improvement. Some of the perennial beds have bare patches that we will fill in with native perennials and shrubs. A few new trees will also be planted as part of this project.

The neighbors of this is block in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood will be planting 30 trees in their tree lawns which will transform this street of wonderfully kept homes. Come join this community pride activity and help the neighborhood plant trees!

An employee in this office park is working to make the area more healthy and beautiful by planting trees. He has recruited other office park companies to help plant and water the trees, but more volunteers are needed for planting day. Since this is an office park, there are no neighbors to help, but everyone who drives by benefits! Please join us in helping these folks make a difference! (northwest Indianapolis area)

Castleton United Methodist Church is working to green their church grounds by planting 20 trees around the church. These trees provide an important addition to the existing trees and provide a healthy diversity of tree species.

Join us as we help neighbors naturalize the Fox Hill Estates retention pond with a native shoreline buffer, trees and shrubs. These plantings will improve water quality, prevent erosion, deter geese and attract desirable wildlife.
