We would like thank the over 28,800 volunteers who partnered with us in 2006!
You, our volunteers, picked up
litter along streets and waterways, planted trees,
built outdoor classrooms
at area schools, built parks and perennial gardens in Indianapolis
neighborhoods, and it is to you that we owe our success.
Thank you for all
your assistance!
Be sure to check out our Volunteer
Spotlights
featuring some of very best volunteers.
Congratulations to Kevin Sellers and
the National Society of Black Engineers,
Indianapolis
Alumni Extension for being
selected for our Winter 2008 Volunteer Spotlight!

One-Time Service Opportunities
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful has many
one-time service opportunities, perfect
for school, work, family, or fun. Most take
place on Saturday mornings every
weekend from early April through the beginning of November. All Saturday
projects begin at
9:00 a.m. and last anywhere from 3 – 5 hours. Projects are
kid-friendly unless otherwise stated!
Here are just a few types of projects that
need volunteers:
-
Planting trees along residential streets and
parks
-
Beautification and revitalization of
communities through planting trees, shrubs and perennials
-
Turning vacant lots into pocket parks
-
Cleaning up littered neighborhoods, parks and
waterways
-
Creating outdoor classrooms on the grounds of
local schools
Weekday projects for groups, or opportunities
for individuals to volunteer on Fridays doing Saturday project preparation
are also available! |
