Three Indianapolis nonprofit organizations to benefit from EY’s day of service

INDIANAPOLIS – (September 18, 2013) On Friday, September 20, more than 110 employees in EY’s Indianapolis office will report to community volunteer activities rather than the office. On this day, EY Indianapolis will donate more than 440 volunteer hours. Through our annual EY Connect Day, employees team up to give back to and make a positive impact on their local communities.

“At EY, building a better working world is our purpose. EY Connect Day is an opportunity to serve this objective on a large scale,” says Indianapolis Managing Partner Derrick Burks. “We’re proud that our flexible culture allows EY people to volunteer throughout the year. EY Connect Day enables us to come together locally and across the country to strengthen our firm and our communities.”

Community engagement is one of the ways EY fosters high-performance teaming. Volunteering reinforces the importance of collaboration, valuing diverse perspectives, continuous learning and mutual accountability for achieving results.
