INDIANAPOLIS – (January 10, 2012) For the sixth year in a row, residents will take advantage of the Post-Holiday Recycling Event to recycle and properly dispose of holiday waste and unwanted electronics. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB), is a partner in the event, sponsored by the Office of Sustainability (SustainIndy), Indy Parks, and the Department of Public Works. The event is Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 10am until 2pm at four Indy park locations.
Park locations for the event are Broad Ripple Park (1550 Broad Ripple Ave.), Ellenberger Park(5301 E. St. Clair St.), Garfield Park (2354 Pagoda Dr. – Arts Center), and Krannert Park (605 S. High School Rd.). At each location, residents will have the opportunity to recycle live Christmas trees, electronics & cell phones, white molded Styrofoam©, gift boxes, cardboard boxes, and recycled cell phones.
New this year: Free paper shredding! Shred Monkey will be onsite to accept your residential paper for shredding and recycling. Five box maximum per vehicle, please.
