What part of town do you live in? What do you like about it?
Mass Ave – so many great locally owned businesses, and so close to many wonderful neighborhoods of community minded folks!
Where do you like to spend time outdoors? Why?
Monon Trail, Cultural Trail, Canal, White River State Park. These are our greenways we use for school, work and recreation. We are glad there are these paths running throughout our downtown landscape.
What places in Indianapolis inspire you?
The 10th street corridor (overpasses) where 10th meets Mass, I love the combination of urban landscape and art serving as a gateway between the near eastside and downtown.
Why do you support KIB?
Everyone in this city has experienced the effects of KIB’s work throughout Indianapolis, along highways, in neighborhoods, at parks, and this is work that will last for generations to come. The reach of KIB, both, visible and not always seen, runs far and wide.
If were describing KIB to a friend, what three words would you use?
Active, Impactful, Thoughful
What else are you involved in within the community?
Mass Ave Merchants Association, including the pedestrian recycling project of 2009 where we teamed with KIB’s recycling guru, Tammy Stevens and installed 10 (locally-made) pedestrian recycling bins on Mass Ave which are still in use today.
We love watching the evolution of Mass Ave and the downtown environment. We’ve seen so much terrific progress in the 12 years we’ve been here.
We want to say thank-you to the many KIB staff and volunteers who work long hours in the hot sun to ensure we will have a clean environment with plentiful green spaces!
