Yes.
Does the Recycle Indianapolis locations accept cardboard for recycling?
No, the Recycle Indianapolis containers do not accept cardboard, or cereal box-type paperboard. Please visit KIB's Recycle and Reuse Guide to find locations in Marion County that accept these materials for recycling.
When I bring my recyclables in bags or boxes, can these items also be thrown into the Recycle Indianapolis containers?
No, the Recycle Indianapolis containers do not accept cardboard boxes, plastic bags or paper bags, even if they are used to transport recyclables. Although most plastic bags are recyclable, we ask residents not to place them in the Recycle Indianapolis containers — they cause damage to the sorting equipment. Can I take office paper and junk mail to Recycle Indianapolis locations?
Although the Recycle Indianapolis bins do not accept office paper and junk mail, most of these sites also host the bright green and yellow PaperRetriever.com paper collection bins, which accept paper, catalogs, magazines, all junk mail as well as newspapers. Does the City of Indianapolis offer curbside recycling?
YES, curbside recycling is available to all single family residences in Marion County, and includes a small monthly fee. To sign up for curbside recycling or to inquire about cost, call the Mayor’s Action Center at 327-4MAC (4622).
