Do I need to bring my own water and/or lunch?
Depending on the event timing, your shift and your personal
preference, you can certainly bring your
lunch or snacks, but water will be provided by the ERT coordinators.
Will I be able to work shifts with my friends or family?
We'll sure try to accommodate this - just make sure each of
you signs up early and
for the same shift!
Am I required to wear the ERT provided t-shirt?
Yes, this will help us quickly identify our volunteers and
also make others aware of this great opportunity to get involved!
When do I pick up my ERT t-shirt?
The t-shirts will either be handed out at the event or at
the orientation meeting. Why am I
sometimes required to attend the
Orientation Meeting?
Depending upon the location of the event and the number
of volunteers needed, there may be a mandatory orientation meeting. Many important topics and matters are handled at the mandatory orientation meeting.
You will be told where to park and, as needed, you'll obtain credentials for entry into
a location. You will pick up your ERT Volunteer t-shirt and you'll receive a
map of recycling areas. You will also learn more about your
volunteer duties during your shift and receive any last minute
instructions. Your attendance will also help us confirm teams for each shift
and answer any other questions you might have!
Do I need to bring my own disposable/protective gloves?
Cotton gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your
own if you prefer.
Who do I contact if I need to change my shift?
Please contact the volunteer coordinator, Tammy Stevens:
tstevens@kibi.org,
286-8198, or program coordinator, Lisa Laflin:
llaflin@indygov.org,
223-1478. Are children allowed to volunteer for the
Event Recycle Team?
Only people 16 and older are allowed to volunteer.
Younger volunteers need to take advantage of other recycling programs and opportunities. Please click now to
find out more about Youth
Education Opportunities offered by KIB.
