trees of urban Indianapolis through community involvement.

Click now to volunteer!  Free training available!

Indy TreeKeepers, is a program which allows citizens to actively participate in planting and conserving  trees in Indianapolis.

What is an Indy TreeKeeper?
First and foremost, a TreeKeeper is someone who enjoys the beauty of trees and wants to join in the experience of planting and caring for them.

The Indy TreeKeepers program offers opportunities for you to enhance your knowledge of trees while helping to improve the environment of Indianapolis!

Volunteers will gather each Saturday morning at 9am and work until noon, from March through November. Tree plantings will occur in the spring and fall, while tree preservation (watering, mulching and pruning) will occur in the summertime months.

Each Saturday morning at 9am starting on June 23rd, volunteers will gather at the entrance to the Monon Greenway Trail at E. 38th Street and Watson Road. We will provide instructions and all necessary tools at that time.

Those who sign up and volunteer for three Indy TreeKeeper projects will receive a KIB  T-shirt!

KIB will underwrite the costs for the Tree Steward Program and Certification for Indy TreeKeepers.  Click now for free training information about the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Community Tree Steward Program.
