Ringgold Park

1513 Ringgold Ave; 46203

An underutilized neighborhood park given new life by incorporating native plantings and a refreshed plan by partnering with Indy Parks.

  • Vision for the Space

Bates-Hendricks neighborhood residents are hoping to have a considerable impact on revitalizing their community park. Once a much larger part of the neighborhood, the park has been nearly eliminated by the construction of I-65. The committee is already making this park relevant again for the community members who live there by adding plantings and creating a new master plan to build on.

  • Importance of the Project

This project is working to accomplish:

    • Sustainability through preserving the natural landscape and engaging the surrounding community
    • Sociability by reconnecting and strengthening the community pride in an oft neglected public space in their community
    • Accessibility by designing as park with the best interest of all community members in mind
  • The Design Process
    The Design Process

KIB and  Mader Design are worked the Ringgold Park Greenspace Committee to plan for a community space that can be utilized by all residents.
