“Passing the Shovel” Ceremony Kicks Off Super Bowl XLVI Environmental Programs in Indianapolis

Indianapolis – Officials from the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee will join Jack Groh, NFL Environmental Program Director, and other local representatives on Thursday for the official “Passing the Shovel” ceremony. A bur oak tree will be planted tomorrow in Indianapolis as the last official tree associated with Super Bowl XLV is planted in North Texas. The ceremony marks the transition of the NFL’s Environmental Program to the Indianapolis Host Committee in preparation for Super Bowl XLVI.
