KIB joins with Dow AgroSciences to help preserve Pogue's Run Conservation Corridor

July 13, 2010

INDIANAPOLIS – (July 14, 2010) The Dow AgroSciences Turf and Ornamental sales team will join Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB) in restoring the water quality and wildlife habitat along Pogue’s Run, near southeastern downtown Indianapolis, on Thursday, July 15. The restoration will consist of the removal of invasive plants along the watershed and the replanting of native trees and shrubs.

Part of Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Clean Up, this multi-year commitment to restore the beauty of Pogue’s Run will partner more than 30 Dow AgroSciences staffers with KIB, the City of Indianapolis, neighborhoods along the watershed and other partners.

“A project that can bring together business leaders, community leaders and neighborhoods is what Keep Indianapolis Beautiful is all about,” said Andrew Hart, Director of Urban Forestry Initiatives with KIB. “We are so lucky to have a true partner in Dow AgroSciences, and the cooperation of the City and the wonderful people who live in the neighborhoods surrounding Pogue’s Run.”

"We wanted to do a project with a lasting impact for the community," said Mark Neterer, Dow AgroSciences district sales manager, Turf and Ornamental. "This opportunity with KIB at Pogue’s Run is certainly in line with Dow AgroSciences' commitment to the Great American Clean Up."

The Great American Clean Up is the nation's largest community improvement program. Volunteers from across the country donate their time and talents to clean, beautify and improve communities in all 50 states.
