KIB Announced as Recipient of 2010 Community Relations/Environmental Grant from United Water

June 23, 2010

INDIANAPOLIS – (June 24, 2010) United Water in partnership with the City of Indianapolis has announced that Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB) has been named one of this year’s 2010 Community Relations/Environmental Grant (CREG) recipients.

Funds from the CREG grant will be focused towards KIB’s Adopt-A-Block (AAB) program. The AAB program provides the tools and resources to help empower neighbors to bring beautification and neighborhood revitalization to their very own block by keeping it clean of litter on an on-going basis. There are currently 350 AAB programs in Marion County.

“We are looking forward to building upon the Adopt-A-Block program with this generous grant from United Water,” said David Forsell, KIB president. “This program is one that not only beautifies neighborhoods, but it also brings neighbors together.”

United Water through CREG, has donated over 3 million dollars to communities that focus in the areas of environmental awareness, education, diversity and human services since the inception of the program. With this grant they are donating over $500,000 in funding to 18 organizations in Marion County.
