FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ICE MILLER LLP IS TITLE SPONSOR OF THE 2009 A MONUMENTAL AFFAIR NOV. 18
2009 Theme Features Environmental Building Best Practices in Central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS – Keep Indianapolis Beautiful announced today that Ice Miller LLP will serve as the title sponsor of the 32nd annual A Monumental Affair, an awards dinner and presentation celebrating the greatest achievements in local construction, design, architecture and community development.

This year’s theme, “Innovation in Indy” will feature sustainable, environmentally sensitive building practices, in addition to its traditional award categories, making it a perfect fit for Ice Miller’s Green Industries Initiative. This multidisciplinary service area counsels clients in sustainable development, clean technology, green house gas emissions and energy management.

The Ice Miller Green Industries team includes attorneys and professionals with experience in environmental law, tax credits, venture financing arrangements, real estate, energy and intellectual property. Kristina Tridico, a partner in the Firm's environmental and business practices, chairs the initiative.

Tridico will join Kären Haley, director of SustainIndy, the City of Indianapolis Office of Sustainability and Jesse Kharbanda, executive director of the Hoosier Environmental Council, as panelists on “Navigating Governmental Policy” in the extended Monumental Affair seminar. The other one-hour seminar topics include: “Sustainability in Indiana: Past, Present and Future” by Bill Brown, director of sustainability at Indiana University and “Local Best Practices” featuring leading sustainable projects including the Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. and Nature Conservancy buildings and the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick.

One of the city’s largest law firms, Ice Miller is also a founding sponsor of the Indiana Sustainability Alliance (INSA), a statewide network to bring together businesses and individuals involved with clean technology, sustainable development and renewable energy.

Tickets for the Monumental Affair awards dinner are $80 each or $600 for a table of eight. Tickets for the seminar are $50. To purchase tickets or tables, contact Laura Fox at lfox@kibi.org or 317-264-7555 ext. 100.

Proceeds from the Monumental Affair seminar and awards dinner benefit Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB). KIB is a not-for-profit that unites people to build community and transform public spaces through aesthetic and environmental improvement.
