NEIGHBORHOOD OR COMMUNITY GROUP

Trees make good neighbors!

Apply for a Tree Planting in Your Community

Keep Indianapolis Beautiful is here to help you improve the quality of life in your neighborhood ... with trees!

If your neighborhood is located within Marion County you can receive 20+ trees to plant in your community.

Your neighborhood must agree to water the trees with 15 gallons of water per week, May 1 - October 31, for the first 3 years.

Application Deadlines

The application deadline for a Spring tree planting is November 1st of the previous year.

The application deadline for a Fall tree planting is May 1st of the current year.

Getting Started

  • Read the Guidelines for organizing a neighborhood tree planting:
Please read this carefully before you get started!
  • Consider volunteering at a NeighborWoods project:
Volunteering at a tree planting can help you understand what to expect at your own project!
  • Complete the NeighborWoods Application
  • Community Greening Handbook:
This handbook will walk you step by step through the information you will need to organize a project with KIB!

Resources for Tree Plantings

Visit the Other Tree Resources page for information on how to plant and care for the new trees in your neighborhood!
