NEIGHBORWOODS APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Important: Please read these guidelines and follow these steps before applying for NeighborWoods trees!

Get Acquainted

• Take a Walk

  • This community tree planting must be located in Marion County. Plan to plant at least 20 trees for your project.
  • Take a walk around your neighborhood or on your block, by yourself or with a group of other neighbors. Notice spaces throughout your community that are calling for trees to be planted.

• Meet Your Neighbors

  • Share with neighbors your interest in trees.
  • Form a small group that will help you begin to organize the planting.
  • Ask them to share the ideas with their neighbors – this is very important.

Get In Touch

• Contact Keep Indianapolis Beautiful

  • Let us know your interest in organizing a neighborhood tree planting. Call Andrew Hart at 264-7555 x110 or e-mail him at ahart@kibi.org.
  • Request FREE TREES door hangers to distribute to neighbors.

• Reach Out to Neighbors

  • Have a group or neighbors help you distribute door hangers to residents and businesses.

• Follow-up

  • Follow-up with neighbors that requested to be involved. Invite them to participate in your efforts, take part in a tree planting and/or help care for a tree.
  • Compile a list of addresses where trees will be planted. You will need to include this in your NeighborWoods application.
