MINDY BOEHR
SOLAR Member Spotlight
Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born and raised on a family farm in Nebraska. There were thirty-four students in my high school class. I moved to Indianapolis in 2008 to take a position as an environmental attorney.
Why did you first support SOLAR?
I joined SOLAR because it was a way to plug into KIB’s work and to pool resources with other young professionals to do additional work on behalf of KIB.
Do you have a favorite KIB experience or memory?
While a favorite memory or experience doesn’t jump to mind, the kind, high energy people KIB volunteers and staff do. It is a great group.
What keeps you involved?
My grandparents started the recycling center, raised funds for and were the caretakers for the town park and my parents never stopped harassing me to learn the names of every plant and tree that we saw. If I wasn’t involved with something that was at the intersection of nature and community improvement, I wouldn’t feel like myself.
Do you have a favorite place in the city?
Anywhere on the White River Wapahani Trail.
