What part of town do you live in? What do you like about it?
We live in the Midtown area in the Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood. It is a great part of town to be in because it is still close to downtown but has that quieter neighborhood feel. Plus being close to Butler University, Broad Ripple and the Monon Trail is fantastic.
Where do you like to spend time outdoors? Why?
Even though our yard is small, there is a large, mature tree that is such an asset to enjoy. I also enjoy taking bike rides on the greenways system and being able to connect to other parts of the city via bike.
What places in Indianapolis inspire you?
The work done along Interstate 70 that I fortunate to be part of a few years ago was inspires me to think big and realize that no opportunity is impossible. In addition, the partnership that was created was one that transformative and what can happen when multiple parties can come together to work through a project and make it successful.
Why do you support KIB?
As a KIB staff member, I give to continue to take the work into areas and neighborhoods that need our programs. I have seen first-hand the impact KIB projects have and know that doesn’t happen without support. I am also proud that 100% of the KIB staff supports the organization!
If were describing KIB to a friend, what three words would you use?
Trees, Teamwork and Transformation
What else are you involved in within the community?
As a graduate of Butler University, I continue to give back by helping students network with others and of course connect them to KIB. I also work with some special events within the City to showcase all the great attributes there are to offer.
What else would you like to tell us about yourself?
In addition to my daily project duties at KIB, I also travel around the country working on running races. It has been great to be part of these great events and bring ideas back that can be applied to other projects.
