LITTER CLEANUP AND PREVENTION
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful's neighborhood cleanup programs offer great support and volunteer opportunities!
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. has two programs that help neighbors pitch in and clean up. The Great Indy Cleanup is our yearly community cleanup program that supports the Great American Cleanup, and KIB's Adopt-A-Block program empowers individuals to make a difference on their block throughout the year.

PROGRAM OVERVIEWS:
The Great Indy Cleanup is a litter program designed to combat heavy litter and debris that has accumulated in public spaces such as streets, alleys, greenspaces and waterways. The Great Indy Cleanup program runs weekends from April through October.
The Great Indy Cleanup program helps neighborhood and/or community based organizations remove litter and debris from their neighborhoods and the areas around their community. Dumpsters are available as well as trash bags and gloves while they last. Community groups may sign up for up to two cleanups per year. These are weekend cleanups only. This program is for litter and illegal dumping cleanups only and should not involve people cleaning out their garages or basements, but should focus on litter and illegal dumping in streets, alleys and vacant lots.
The Adopt-A-Block program is an ongoing litter abatement program aimed at combating litter one block at a time. We engage individuals who will keep their blocks clean on an ongoing basis, whether that means daily pick up while walking or after returning from work; weekly informal cleanups; or a monthly effort where everyone participates in one large cleanup. Become a Block Coordinator for your block!
