Where did you go to school?
The Ohio State University and Columbia University for a Masters in Historic Preservation.

What’s your favorite place in Indianapolis?
The Historic National Road that runs right through the middle of town. You’ve got Irvington on the east, Monument Circle and the White River Park in the middle, and the Medical History Museum on the west. Of course, to really experience the nation’s first federally funded interstate highway, you need to drive the Road across the state.

Who is your favorite musician?
Mark Knopfler. His solo career after Dire Straits continued his incredible guitar artistry and lyrical work exploring a variety of musical genres. Though my top list wouldn’t be complete without The Beatles, Jack Johnson and John Denver!

What has been your favorite vacation?
All of my vacations are my favorite. Remembering the trip to England, Scotland and Ireland for the first time a few years ago makes me want to go back soon. Hiking and camping the west and listening to the elk in rut yards from my tent in the Rockies, or climbing up to Grinnell Glacier will be something I’ll never forget either.

What’s your favorite tree?
The Shagbark Hickory. It’s got great bark.
