Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and the City of Indianapolis wrap up the Great Indy Cleanup kickoff with more than 50 neighborhood projects this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS – (April 29, 2011) Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB) will be working all over the city this weekend on numerous beautification and community improvement projects, with hundreds of Indy residents to wrap up the Great Indy Cleanup kickoff. The citywide effort to beautify and strengthen our community is a partnership with KIB and the City of Indianapolis–already over 1 million pounds of litter have been collected this month!

The Great Indy Cleanup continues into October with organized cleanups scheduled throughout the year. Additional projects this weekend include tree planting as part of KIB’s NeighborWoods program, sponsored by Indianapolis Power & Light Company, and part of the 2,012 trees by 2012 initiative; as well as urban garden plantings.
