HOW TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL EVENT FOR KIB
Be creative.
First, consider your life and how much time you can devote to a successful event.
Questions to ask yourself
- What kind of event do I want to put on?
- Do I want a small event with larger donations or do I want a larger event with lots of smaller donations?
- Is it realistic and will it work?
- Will I need help doing it and who will help me?
- Will my friends and family want to participate?
- How much time will it take? Create a timeline.
- How much will it cost? Create a budget.
- How much will the event raise?
- Do I have the time to plan the event, get people to help and to promote it?
- Who will attend?
- Will I be able to ask for money?
- Do I have any good ideas about businesses that might donate towards the event and help reduce cost?
Tips
- Events take planning – don’t wait until the last minute.
- You gotta ask in order to get. Increase the number of people asking for support and you will likely increase the number of donations.
- Get the word out about your event. Enlist others to help spread the word.
- Set a realistic funding goal and enjoy the fruits of your labor knowing that you are helping to make Indianapolis a better place.
- Remember all your hard work and all the money raised will go towards a good cause.
