Planting and Cultivating Creativity

Location: 1505 North Delaware St.,  Old North Side Neighborhood

Project Description: The Harrison Center would like its grounds to be as great a contribution to the health of the neighborhood as its arts programming. To that end, in 2009 we worked with them to transform their courtyard into an engaging public space. This effort included the installation of 24 multi-stem serviceberries as well as a white garden which will provide year long interest and an ever changing backdrop for outdoor events. This project was the first phase of a multi-phase effort to create a proper courtyard that will serve the needs of the center’s tenants and the community as a whole. Events such as the Indianapolis Music and Arts Festival (IMAF) and First Friday art openings will benefit from this transformation.
