GREAT INDY CLEANUP (GIC) INTERNSHIP
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful’s Great Indy Cleanup (GIC) Internship will provide hands-on experience in the Indianapolis community.
A creative, energetic and outgoing person with a marketing background is sought to assist program and public relations staff with preparations for the Great Indy Cleanup project scheduled for April, 2011. KIB's Great Indy Cleanup is a litter program designed to combat heavy litter and debris that has accumulated in public spaces such as streets, alleys, greenspaces and waterways. The 2011 Great Indy Cleanup program will include a citywide effort in the month of April. This will be the first year that we target four quadrants of Marion County on four separate Saturdays in April.
Intern will be encouraged to expand on current ways of engaging residents to participate in the cleanup campaign, as well as new ways of engaging the public. Tasks will include creating, printing, correlating and delivering project supplies and literature for distribution partners, working with partners to set up displays, answer questions, etc.
Intern will need to have their own transportation for deliveries all over Marion County. Tasks will also include working with printing companies for banners and posters, helping to organize cleanup supplies for neighborhood groups, and all other tasks as needed.
- 15-40 hours per week
- Opportunity is unpaid.
