What happens when generous people like you help KIB raise several thousand dollars in just one day?
Something beautiful happens! And something very much needed.
You have the opportunity now to help KIB make Indianapolis a better city.
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful is participating in a national effort called #GivingTuesday, on December 3, 2013. You may have heard of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday…but #GivingTuesday is a day focused on making meaningful gifts to nonprofits like KIB, in conjunction with the holiday shopping season. Between now and December 3, we have set a goal to raise at least $3,000 to support our work in local neighborhoods around Indy.
KIB needs to purchase 30,000 trash bags for volunteers to use on clean ups around the city, as they pick up more than 2 million pounds of trash and litter from our streets and neighborhoods annually.
And, we need to buy 12,000 pairs of gloves for volunteers to use when helping out on greening and tree-planting projects, bringing nature and beauty to our doorsteps.
1 heavy duty trash bag = 25 cents. 1 pair of gloves = 33 cents
Your $10 donation will buy 40 trash bags or 30 pairs of gloves.
Give now and double your donation!
Thanks to the generosity of MIBOR (Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors). If you give today, your gift will make twice the impact! MIBOR pledged $1,000 to match contributions as part of #GivingTuesday – as a result, your $10 contribution will now become $20. That would be 80 trash bags or 60 pair of gloves!
Now, the total cost of the bags and gloves we will use in a year is in excess of $10,000, but if we can raise $3,000 or more on #GivingTuesday, it will give us a much needed head start! Will you help us? Here are a few important ways to help:
