Donor Spotlight: Jesse Beck

Name: Jesse Beck

Occupation/Company/Organization/Position: Horticulture at IUPUI

What neighborhood do you live in?: Little Flower

What is the most inspiring place in Indianapolis?:
I love riding my bike along Brookside Parkway North Drive starring into the park and imagining the potential.

How long have you supported Keep Indianapolis Beautiful?:
I have been volunteering since 2011 when KIB had a tree planting in my neighborhood.  In the last three years, I have become more involved thanks to the Tree Tender Program.

Why do you support KIB?:
Because of the amazing work they do around town transforming once barren areas into amazing parks, tree lined boulevards, and giving employment opportunities to youth.

What impact do you feel that the work with KIB has on the community?:
The biggest impact is how KIB provides so many diverse opportunities for residents to get involved within the community.  If you have an idea to beautify or cleanup an area, KIB is there to provide you all the possible resources needed.

What else are you involved in within the community?:
I am a board member of Little Flower Neighborhood Association, IndyCog, Irvington Garden Club, and Purdue Master Gardener’s.

Why would you encourage others to support KIB?:
The tiniest donation goes a long way in buy plants, paints, cleanup supplies, and so on.  I think everyone should care about the mission of improving the quality of life in Indianapolis.
