Did someone say ice skating? WHERE?

For two whole days later this month, Georgia Street will be covered from corner to corner in holiday cheer! City Sidewalks is brining downtown Indianapolis to life and trust us, you don’t want to miss out on this spectacular celebration.

Holiday music, local artisans, live performances, family-friendly activities, local and seasonal food, FREE ice skating and even the jolly old man himself (Santa, duh) will be stopping by for a visit. Indianapolis is taking creative placemaking by the reins this holiday season and we can’t wait to join the party!

This new holiday tradition will take place Friday, Dec. 13th from 5 – 9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 14th from noon to 9 p.m. City Sidewalks is a celebration that provides an opportunity for neighbors to step outside and enjoy the beauty that Georgia Street has to offer during the most wonderful time of the year (see what I did there).

Indianapolis is adding yet another page to their book of creative placemaking with this fun new tradition. This holiday celebration will capitalize on a weekend of rejuvenating streetscape, supporting local businesses and inspiring connectivity. And who wouldn’t want to be a part of that??

So throw on your most obnoxious Christmas sweater, grab the neighbors and head down to Georgia Street Dec. 13th and 14th for a weekend of holiday fun–who knows, you might even see Santa!
