Tell us a little about yourself.
The Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors® (MIBOR) is a trade association representing approximately 5,800 Realtors in the MIBOR service area. MIBOR has chosen to be involved in the economic development arena through its Realtor Community Investment Initiative (RCII) grants. We believe that economic development efforts that help create jobs are good for the community as a whole, and good for the real estate community.
Why did you first support KIB?
A clean, attractive, vibrant community is a vital part of economic development efforts. Most companies would prefer to relocate to an area that their employees will be proud to call home.
Do you have a favorite KIB experience or memory?
MIBOR members have enjoyed working with KIB and other volunteers at several tree planting events on the near eastside as part of the 2,012 Trees for the 2012 Super Bowl initiative. The REALTOR® Foundation also rolled up its sleeves to plant trees in the past; all of which have been terrific opportunities to get out in the community and help beautify our neighborhoods.
What keeps you involved?
We like what KIB does, and we believe that KIB’s efforts are an important part of the area’s overall community improvement landscape.
Do you have a favorite place in the city?
We like to show off the downtown – the Cultural Trail, the area from the Eiteljorg to the Zoo, the Circle (and Circle Theatre and IRT). The downtown area has become such a vibrant part of the city it is a pleasure to show off to visitors from out of town.
