KIB’s headquarters in Fountain Square has been awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), making us the first civic nonprofit in Indiana to be LEED certified. Click here for more technical details and to see who helped us make it happen!

The Space
Relocating to this versatile combination of warehouse and office space has streamlined work flow, increasing fiscal and environmental efficiency. KIB staff estimates they wasted 350 hours driving between various sites in 2006.
The Neighborhood
Formerly a contaminated property and abandoned warehouse at the corner of Fletcher and Shelby in Fountain Square, the move has proven to be a welcomed investment in the culture-rich neighborhood.
But beyond community investment, our new location has been instrumental in community education—modeling sustainable design and redevelopment for residents to see firsthand.
The building is also be near the planned route for the Cultural Trail. Having a green community resource as a possible destination near the Trail is a very exciting prospect for KIB and for the city.
KIB Tours
KIB gives building and grounds tours the first Monday of every month at 4 p.m., and to groups by appointment as able. Contact Laura Fox for more information.
