Yelp Indy Senior Community Manager
What neighborhood do you live in?
What is the most inspiring place in Indianapolis?
Monument Circle – I have a reputation of taking out-of-towners around the Circle as many times as possible when they visit – what a show off, right? This space is a HUGE opportunity for our community. I can’t wait to see more groups and individuals activating this iconic public space.
Lafayette Square – great things are happening here with Indy’s vibrant international community, not to mention the food…
How long have you supported Keep Indianapolis Beautiful?
When I first moved to Indy as a Junior at Butler University, I adopted my block on Washington Blvd. and 36th Street! 5 years of KIB fun under the belt.
Why do you support KIB?
A clean and beautiful city is one where people are happy to work, play and live. KIB is the powerhouse that keeps Indy sparkling on the daily.
What impact do you feel that the work with KIB has on the community?
Aside from KIB’s obvious mission of greening and beautifying the Circle City, this organization has a natural way of stirring civic and 317 pride in everyone they come in contact with.
What else are you involved in within the community?
Girls Inc., 1821 young professionals group, Indiana State Museum’s Young Advisory Board, Wicket World of Croquet Committee, Indianapolis Downtown Marketing Board and cheering on as many local businesses and events as possible with my role as Yelp’s Community Manager.
Why would you encourage others to support KIB?
Volunteerism never looked so pretty till KIB came along. I also would give them a capital ‘O’ for Organized – that never hurts when looking for a group to get involved with.
If you were describing KIB to a friend, what three words would you use?
Neighborly. Passionate. Well-orchestrated.
