Top Ten Hidden Beauty Spots in Indy

Your mission, if you decide to accept, is to help me locate The Top Ten Hidden Beauty Spots in Indy, key word here being “Hidden.” Everyone already knows about all the Beauty at Butler University’s Holcomb Gardens and in the Indianapolis Museum of Art so don’t choose those or other obvious sites.
So what is Beauty, you ask. Is it strictly subjective ("Beauty is in the eye of the beholder") or is there some objectivity to its determination? What criteria will be used to include your entry in the Top Ten? In order to help narrow your search, I Googled Beauty and found enough quotes to choke Deep Throat.
I chose the following three, combining their messages to build a description of how Beauty will be defined for this contest.
- Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. Confucius
- Beauty awakens the soul to act. Dante Alighieri
- Beauty is whatever gives joy. Edna St. Vincent Millay
So the Beauty Spots you find should be somewhat concealed, prompt one to action and fill the viewer with joy. To show you a few examples of what might be included on the list, I packed up the digital camera, hopped on my bicycle and toured the northeast side of Indy.
Here’s what I found.
- The Indiana School for the Deaf Monon Trail Plaza - a vibrantly colored mosaic structure illustrating various facets of the deaf culture
- The Indy Skyline - the big city as seen through a soccer goal
- Lake Maxinhall - an 83 acre spring-fed lake right in the heart of Indy just 15 minutes from downtown
