A Watson Road Morning
How many of you took a walk this morning, or still can, outside in the first substantial snow of December? Three years ago, when my wife and I moved here, we did it for a number of reasons, but high on the list are the awesome urban trees. Winter mornings like this only happen a few times a year, and I savor them... Mornings when the snow is heavy enough to hug the limbs and brances, and the roofs of the 1920's colonials and tudors blend with the buttermilk sky... When the dog slips a time or too on the drive, and ends up with the white stuff on the muzzle as he and I go for our a.m. stroll... City folk need trees. Today, they're not just good for my property value, or for the berries feeding the robins flocking up and down the street. They are good for my soul!
