YOUTH APPLICATION PROCESS

STEP 2: Challenge Day
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) will hold a two-hour Challenge Day for all applicants.
Date: Saturday, March 3, 2012
Time: 10:00 AM to Noon
Location: KIB Office (1029 Fletcher Ave., Indianapolis)
Purpose: We are looking for youth who like to work hard and get their hands dirty.
Activity: You will be put through a series of obstacles including carrying buckets of water and moving piles of mulch.
Dress: Wear work-clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Dress in a way that prepares you for any weather. Do not wear open-toed shoes.
Weather: Challenge Day will take place regardless of the weather. Be prepared for sun, rain, and snow.
Notes: This event is a required part of the application process. This event is part of a job interview. It is in your best interest to arrive early to Challenge Day. Those who arrive even slightly late may be turned away.
STEP 3: Volunteer
After you have attended Challenge Day, your next step is to volunteer at a tree planting.
Date: Saturday, March 31, 2012
Time: 9:00 AM to Noon
Location: To be announced
Purpose: We are looking for youth who like to work hard and get their hands dirty.
Activity: You will learn how to properly plant trees, and then you will work in small teams to plant several trees.
Dress: Wear work-clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Dress in a way that prepares you for any weather. Do not wear open-toed shoes.
Weather: This tree planting will take place regardless of the weather. Be prepared for sun and rain.
STEP 4: Interview
After you have completed the above steps, we will invite you to the KIB office for an interview.
Date: Sunday, April 29, 2011
Time: We will work with you to schedule a time. An interview lasts no more than 30 minutes.
Location: KIB Office (1029 Fletcher Ave., Indianapolis)
Dress: Youth typically dress in a business-professional manner for this interview. Your school uniform is sufficient.
