Trees Planted: 2,420 large trees

NeighborWoods Trees Planted to Date: 6,398 large trees

Pounds Recycled: Over 6,192 tons recycled

Litter Removed: 2,134,000 pounds of litter, in 277 neighborhood cleanups

Daffodils Planted: 28,000 bulbs in 2007

Medians Adopted: 429, up from 380 in 2006, an in-kind and volunteer value of over $273,000 to the City of Indianapolis

Pocket Parks created: 6 pocket parks

Blocks Adopted: More than 230 blocks, a volunteer value of over $164,000

Awards Won:

Mayor’s Neighborhood Award Second Place, Paige Linn Booker Park, won by the RMS 10 Neighborhood Association.

The Indianapolis Foundation Inspiring Places Award, Paige Linn Booker Park, won by the RMS 10 Neighborhood Association.

Mayor’s Neighborhood Award Second Place, McCord Park Renovation, won by the Watson McCord Neighborhood Association.

KIB received a 4-star rating by Charity Navigator for two consecutive years (2006 and 2007), a rating achieved by only 15% of all nonprofits.

KIB was named one of 2007’s 10 “Most Effective Nonprofits in Indianapolis!” in Indianapolis Monthly.
