Say Hello to the 2011 Youth Tree Team!

This select group of Indy youth works throughout the summer to water and maintain trees in the city.

Part of the NeighborWoods programs, the Youth Tree Team is a nine-week summer program that employees Indy youth 20 hours a week, to water and maintain trees the KIB plants throughout the year. Participants work three days a week, and participate in an enrichment activities each Thursday. Last year, youth visited with green-collar professionals to learn about career choices, visited a few colleges, and met with a financial planner at a bank. They also participate in team building activities—did someone say White River rafting!

As you are driving through the city, give the YTT a friendly honk, and thank them for their hard work to keep Indy’s trees looking good!
